MerMay 2026 Days 29-31 & June Goals!
Welcome! Today we’re going over the final three days of MerMay 2026, along with my goals for June 2026. Let's get started!
Day 29, mimic
Day twenty-nine was mimic, my second favorite monster type, after Dragon Quest slimes (or slimes in general, but especially them). A mimic is a creature that pretends to be something else, typically inanimate objects. I really like how this one turned out!
Day 30, poison revisited
Day thirty was poison, revisited. I loved the original so much, but was sad you couldn't see much of the body, so I wanted to do another piece showing it off, and I love it!
Day 31, jewelry
Day thirty-one was jewelry, my final day and most detailed piece. I opted to actually aint the gold rather than take the easy route with a metallic marker or pen, and I think it came out great, and shiny looking!
And that brings both MerMay and May of 2026 to a close. I did a whopping fifty-two mermaids in May! I'm very proud of my work and ability to push through! If you want to see the previous days, check out my other blog posts on MerMay!
But all good things must come to an end, alas. However, it means something new begins! And that new thing is June 2026. Let's go over my hopes and goals for the month!
Goals for June
Firstly, on the business side, I want to upload one video a week to YouTube and one blog post a week here.
For art, I have quite a few goals. To start, I have two commissions to finish, although one is just a self-commissioned piece (it's a gift for my baby brother, who's graduating high school, somehow!).
Next, I have three sketchbooks I'd like to finish off. A pattern sketchbook (which I finished on June second, actually!), a landscape sketchbook, and my normal sketchy sketchbook. Then I’ll be starting a new landscape sketchbook and sketchy sketchbook (not to finish in June, though!). I have some art tutorial books on landscapes I'd like to use in the landscape sketchbooks, as another small goal.
My final goal is to work on color theory and light, specific to watercolor, using a few workbooks and textbooks I have. I dont have a dedicated sketchbook for these, although that could be a good idea... For now, I’ll just be working in the workbook and loose paper.
And that’s all for this week! I hope you enjoyed reading, and if you have a favorite MerMay piece, let me know!
See you next time!
