MerMay 2026 Days 22-28!

Mermay 2026 days 22-28

Hello! Welcome to week(ish) three of MerMay 2026! Today I'll be talking a little about my last week, and the pieces I created for MerMay.

To start off, last week i had my babiest brothers grade school graduation! He’s off to high school now, which is so crazy, because it feels like just yesterday he was a tiny thing running around the house and causing mischief! It's so surreal, especially because my oldest sibling (also a brother) is graduating high school too, in just a few weeks! My middle sibling just started high school this past year as well, it's so weird to see them growing up so fast!!

Then my aunt had her birthday party, she's 39! She's a librarian, so I got her a few things from Micheal’s bookish collection earlier this year, and she loved them! We got to see a bunch of family, and my aunt’s chickens and bunnies. We even had a bonfire, but that just hurt my eyes, so I fled indoors.

Now, onto MerMay!

A shark mermaid

Mermay day 22, shark

Day twenty-two was shark, which was a very quick and basic mermaid to do, but I still like them regardless!

a pearl mermaid with pearl beading

Mermay day 23, pearl

Day twenty-three was pearl. I attempted to make the tail look like a pearl, and I think it looks pretty good, especially from further away. I also of course gave them pearl beads all over their body.

A mermaid sitting, surrounded by corals, anemones, starfish, and urchins

Mermay day 24, plants

Day twenty-four was plants, which may or may not be accurate for the “plant life” I chose-corals and the such. I'm not sure if they count as plants, but they sure do look pretty and cool!

A pirate mermaid with a treasure chest full of coins

Mermay day 25, pirate

Day twenty-five was pirate. I wanted the pirate mermaid to have a golden tail to match their obsession with treasure and gold, and I really like how it came out!

Mermay day 26, punk

Day twenty-six was punk. This mermaid is based on the og British punk movement and aesthetic, and I daresay they look it, and cool of course.

a mermaid jumping into the ocean framed by a sunset

Mermay day 27, sunset

Day twenty-seven was sunset. This was my forty-eighth mermaid of the month, and the last page of the sketchbook. I wanted the last page to be sunset as it's like it's coming to a close.

a mermaid with burn scars and long black hair

Mermay day 28, original character

Day twenty-eight was a ttrpg character of mine named Cecil. He’s a mimic with a humanoid form, and obviously also a mermaid form. He has burns across one side of his body. How a mermaid was burned? I haven't a clue, but it's certainly possible.

So that's all for this week's blog post! I hope you enjoyed all the merms and updates, and I hope to see you again next week!

Ciao!
